About us
The Sociedad Operadora de Proyectos (SOP) was established in 2018 by five entrepreneurs with previous experience of business and project management in the Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, Infrastructure, and Agriculture sectors.
SOP is led by engineer Fredy Mora, an industrial engineer, who has more than 15 years experience in project management in different sectors. In 2016, Fredy developed a blueberry plantation of approx. 7,000 plants in the municipality of Santa Sofía, in the Department of Boyacá (175 kms from Bogotá), which is currently in full production. Fredy is on the Board of Directors of Asocolblue, the national blueberry industry association and leads its Commercial Committee.
SOP developed, partly owns and operates the Berlin plantation, located in the municipality of Zipaquirá, Department of Cundinamarca (43 km from Bogotá), of 9.5 Ha and 46,000 blueberry plants of 4 varieties. The project was implemented in 2 phases, the first of 23,000 plants that started in June 2018 which is already in production and the second phase is expected to start production in the second quarter of 2021.
SOP has displayed a Strategic Plan with the main goal of developing 200+ Ha blueberry plantations by the year 2025, 100% for the export market. The second plantation, “50X”, is a 54 Hectares project, which requires equity funding of approx. USD 5 million and debt funding of approx. 9.2 million.
